CPCPWT4022 Commission and maintain backflow prevention devices
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to test, commission, and maintain backflow prevention devices in water services and is offered in a classroom environment with practical based learning. Assessments for this course are conducted in both a practical and classroom setting.
This is an accredited three-day course required for all plumbers in Queensland who wish to obtain a backflow endorsement on their occupational licence. Successful completion of this training satisfies the requirement of the endorsement with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC).
There are prerequisites for this course:
- CPCPCM2043 Carry out WHS requirements
- CPCPWT3027 Install backflow prevention devices
- CPCPCM3023 Fabricate and install non-ferrous pressure piping
If you have completed these units in your prior studies, you must upload it during your enrolment tasks.
If you haven’t completed these units, the Training Services team will be able to provide you with options on how you can complete these units prior to attending the class for CPCPWT4022 Commission and maintain backflow prevention devices.

Practical Assessment including the submission of the following Form9's:
- 1 SCV report
- 3 DCV reports
- 3 RPZ reports.

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be issued with a nationally recognised statement of attainment.
